Abstract
Software Radios strive for maximum flexibility in terms of multiband, multimode and multirole capabilities. In turn, the radio architecture has to show flexibility by a software driven modular structure that is able to cope with high computational power demands. The programmable Software Radio M3TR covering the complete frequency range from HF up to UHF and providing various fixed network or air interfaces sets a good example how to fulfill these requirements.
