Abstract

Macromedia Flash 5.0 provides an exciting environment to design and create interactive animation suitable primarily for web publishing. The comprehensive range of features available can, initially, seem overwhelming. Indeed, the type of sophistication embedded in some of the features takes time to absorb, though once learnt the real power of Flash can be used to create attractive and dynamic pages at relative ease. As we will see, the development of such pages can be achieved by using merely the graphical interface or through inserting added control by using, for example, scripts.
