Abstract
In this chapter we compare performance of the classifiers discussed in this book, using the data sets listed in Table 1.1 on page 19. The classifiers compared in this chapter are the k-nearest neighbor classifier (k-NN), the three-layer neural network classifiers trained by BP and SI, the fuzzy classifiers with pyramidal membership functions (PYD) and ellipsoidal regions (ELD), the fuzzy min-max classifier (MM), the fuzzy min-max classifier with inhibition (MMI), and the support vector machine (SVM). The performance data used in this chapter were summarized from the previous chapters and Appendix A.2.
