Some Notes on Static Analysis
This chapter is intended as a very brief introduction to program analysis. The examples of the techniques assurne the use of the SPADE package developed at Southampton University by a team under Dr Bernard Carré. Firstly, a simple Ada example is introduced. This code is then subjected to analysis using the standard techniques of static analysis. The final section summarises the various strengths and weaknesses of static analysis.
