Abstract
Description
The Celestron C5 optical tube assembly (OTA) has been in production since 1971. Since then, the telescope has come in a number of different varieties, with various mounts and accessory options as standard. These include:

Original C5 — Mains-driven double-tine fork, 6 × 30 finder.

C5 Spotting scope — Tripod mount, accessory bar and 6 × 24 finder.

C5 “Classic” scope — Mains-driven single-tine fork mount, table-top equatorial wedge, accessory bar and 6 × 30 finder.

C5+ — As the C5 “Classic”, but battery driven.

G5 — Lightweight German equatorial, tripod and 6 × 30 finder.

NexStar 5 — Computerised altazimuth mount and unit power reflex finder.
