Sprites come to life when they are animated. To gain this effect, we need to generate a series of images for the sprite and then play them over time. Each image needs to capture some change from the previous state. This could simply be where the sprite colour is altered, or there is a change in shape or location, or the light source has moved (thereby returning different object shadows and darkness regions for a movie).
