Abstract
This chapter describes the process of screening that is undertaken once the target for a drug has been identified and the compounds or biologicals have been produced to test against it. Different laboratory assays are used to measure interactions with the target, and depending on the throughput of the screen, may require robotics to automate the process. These technologies along with the relevant terminology used in this particular aspect of drug discovery are described in this chapter.
