Abstract
Techniques used to construct IBE schemes have been found to be useful in constructing other primitives. Some of these primitives can be seen as more general notions of IBE. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a brief discussion of these issues. This discussion is not meant to be comprehensive. Rather it is meant to provide the reader with an idea of the technical flexibility that the notion of (H)IBE offers.
