  • Alan Smart

Abstract

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) has recently promoted a variety of changes which attempt to facilitate the development of a ‘knowledge-based society.’ Associated with this imagined economic future have been changes to the conditions under which Chinese nationals can enter Hong Kong. The administration is trying to minimize the numbers doming from the mainland as part of family reunions, and instead recruiting highly skilled professionals.
