Acute Pericarditis

Viral and idiopathic pericarditis

  • Chapter
The Pericardium

Abstract

“This, the most common form, occurs usually as a secondary process, and is distinguished by the small amount of fluid exudation, which does not, as in the next variety, give special characters to the disease. It is a benign form, and rarely, if ever, of itself proves fatal. ” (Osier 1892)
