Complex systems are systems characterized by a large number of interconnected components. Those systems resist simple reductionism and, therefore, the researcher should study the overall dynamics of a complex system as evident from the emergence of gestalt forms out of micro-level interactions. Should we examine the mind as a complex socio-somatic-semiotic system?
