Abstract

The development process for producing new organic coatings typically requires extensive experimentation. This is a consequence of the complexity of most coating systems resulting from the wide array of properties that must be imparted to the material. Even relatively subtle changes in property requirements may require screening of many coating compositions since coating components are typically highly interactive resulting in complex nonlinear structure-property relationships. Owing to these facts, the application of combinatorial methods to organic coating development appeared to be very useful (chen)[1, 2].
