Abstract
Nowadays are countless the situations where it is necessary the use of a distributed data acquisition system, being sometimes necessary to know the exact location of remote data acquisition units and to integrate more than one type of communication networks. We have developed a generic geo-referenced data acquisition platform that integrates, in vectorized maps, position and sensor information. A communications module allows using Ethernet, GSM and GPRS networks. It is also opened the possibility to use UMTS. The first developed application supported by this platform is a robotized system for the measurement of perimeters. Once the remote units can have several sensors, this platform allows registering not only the position of the unit but also all the associated sensorial information.
