Master Equation Approach for an Ideal Bose Gas

Abstract

Though experimentally more relevant, treatment of a confined ideal Bose gas through canonical ensemble is a formidable task due to the partide number conservation condition. We show here that the recently developed non-equilibrium master equation approach gives an equilibrium solution which is faithful to the canonical ensemble result.
