Abstract
Presently, the main types of industrial flow meter technology are ultrasonic, magnetic, coriolis mass and vortex flowmeters. Each type exhibits specific advantages depending on the particular application1. In contrast to others, ultrasonic techniques are attractive because they are non-intrusive, applicable to fluids regardless of their conductivity and opacity, robust and inexpensive 2. Therefore, fluid speed measurements at room temperature by ultrasound means are a well-established technology.
