Abstract

Coloring is one of the processing steps in the production of many plastic materials. At the beginning of the plastics age, colorants were added to plastics to hide the yellowish or brownish look caused by aging, but at the present time, they are used mainly for aesthetic purposes. Coloring plastic materials demands a full knowledge of coloring processes, which are subject to the producer’s appreciation of color shades, to the possible changes in the polymer and in the pigment during processing, to aging, and to the effects of other additives present in the plastic material [1–4].
