    Since the General Conference on Weights and Measures in 1964, the liter has been a special name of the cubic decimeter.

    Unfortunately, m has two meanings here: that of a mass for the solvent (m 0) and that of a molality for the solute (m i ). The context often provides an easy answer to the ambiguity.
