Abstract

Chapter 10 introduced a generalized Bose-Hubbard model that is, under appropriate circumstances, capable of describing experimentally important situations, and which is much more general than the ordinary Bose-Hubbard model. However, while we could deduce the form of the Hamiltonian, quantitatively calculating the model’s parameters is non-trivial.
