Abstract

Laparoscopic surgery, and other minimally invasive techniques, continues to revolutionize how surgery is being performed, particularly compared to the historically crude practices prior to twentieth century surgery. What is even more exciting is that laparoscopic innovations are evolving the mindset of most of today’s surgeons so they are pursuing additional minimal access surgical approaches, with their ideally quicker healing times and better outcomes, to accomplish what has for years been performed with conventional surgery.
