Abstract

For CMV retinitis in HIV+ patients; hydration and probenicidξ must be given with both intravit and IV; adjust dose in renal failureκ; renal function with serum creatinine and urine protein must be monitored within 48 hours before each dose and dose modified granulocytopenia - monitor neutrophil counts contraindicated if serum creatinine >1.5 mg/dl, creat clearance <55 ml/min, urine protein > 100 mg/dl
