Prism Spectroscope Designs

Abstract

The first astronomical application of the spectroscope was to use a prism in front of the telescope objective. This allowed early scientists to develop their theories of star classifications from the observed spectra. The last chapter gave details of how to calculate the deviation and dispersion of prisms.
