Abstract
An integrated information system Nucleosomal DNA Organization has been designed and is being further developed. This system comprises (1) Nucleosome Positioning Region Database, compiling the available experimental data on locations and characteristics of nucleosome formation sites as well as detailed information on other factors that influence nucleosome positioning, and (2) NucleoMeter software package for recognition of these sites. The system allows prognostic estimates of both the ability of arbitrary genomic sequences to position nucleosomes and functional significance of such positioning to be obtained.
