Abstract

Theoretical approaches are described for the measurements of double differential cross sections (DDCS) and partial double differential cross sections (PDDCS) for the ionization of helium, argon, krypton and xenon atoms and hydrogen, sulphur dioxide and sulphur hexafluoride molecules by electron impact. Also the theoretical basis of the electron impact excitation of the hydrogen-like spin-polarized atoms of sodium and potassium and the helium and helium-like atoms of calcium and strontium is discussed.
