Abstract

The Leipzig Charter on Sustainable European Cities has been signed by the ministers responsible for urban development in the 27 countries of the European Union meeting in Leipzig in May 2007. It has been developed and adopted on initiative of the German Presidency of the European Union. Throughout this charter, member countries emphasize the qualities of European cities and the importance of their role in the development of each state.
