Lightcurve Photometry Tools and Techniques

  • Roger Dymock
Part of the Astronomers' Observing Guides book series (OBSERVING)

Lightcurve photometry is an aspect of astronomy where there is ample opportunity for amateurs to make a very significant contribution to our understanding of asteroids – lightcurves having been obtained for less than 1% of numbered asteroids. The more complete the sampling of asteroid lightcurves, the better astronomers can develop theories concerning the origin and dynamics of minor planets.
