Abstract

Architecture simulation by virtual prototypes is a fundamental design and validation tool of system architects. It consists in replicating an architecture in software in order to validate its functional behavior, to evaluate its performance, to explore architecture design options, or to enable early software development and non-intrusive debugging. In this book, we highlight some of the most recent developments in architecture software simulation. This book is motivated by multiple and drastic evolutions in architecture, technology, application domains, and manufacturing, all happening at the same time, and which greatly challenge the development of architecture simulation or virtual platforms.
