Abstract
The use of radiations and radiolabeled products for any purpose is governed by regulatory agencies in different countries all over the world. This chapter focuses on regulations that pertain only to the United States, and only a brief summary of European regulations is given at the end.

The Γ value of photon-emitting radionuclides can be calculated from the expression Γ= 199ΣΣNiEiμi, where N i is the fractional abundance of photons of energy E i in MeV and μμ i is the mass absorption coefficient (cm2/g) of air for photons of energy E i.
