Chapter
Part of the Patrick Moore's Practical Astronomy Series book series (PATRICKMOORE)

Abstract

Having constructed the camera holder in the previous chapter you must now attach the camera. It is strongly recommended that you practice all operations from the comfort of your house or garden on a nice day. Although not at all difficult you must be able to set up and move the camera and eyepieces competently in the dark. The following method uses a distant view of a telegraph pole, which also has the advantage of the telescope being able to be placed in a level and stable position and pointing horizontally.
