Although astronomers, amateur and professional alike, have long lifted their querying eyes to the sky, the bursting of the Space Age on the scene in the 1960s brought forth many questions from the curious populace. (Curious here meaning their interrogations, not their behavior, of course.) As able ambassadors of space science generally, astronomers therefore found themselves the interpreters to the lay pubic of all things non-terrestrial. So, together, we have explored the remote vastness of the Solar System and commentated upon the musings of philosophizing cosmologists. Consequently, astronomers have been able to contaminate the less informed with unbounded and infectious enthusiasm for the subject (hopefully!).
