Abstract

Not only was Galileo Galilei the greatest of the late Renaissance scientists, but it’s no exaggeration to claim that the modern era of physics and astronomy began with his work. Galileo helped revolutionize our thoughts about the way that the world works, opened our eyes to the true majesty of the Universe, and developed the foundations of scientific observation and experimentation to test ideas.
