In a search for evidence that a disease such as leukemia is indeed an infectious disease, perhaps of viral etiology, interest will focus on whether or not the disease cases occur in clusters. In this case, a cluster will constitute a group of cases that are close both in space and time, which is called space-time clustering or space-time
