Abstract

Since laparoscopic gastrectomy was first performed for early gastric cancer (EGC) in 1991 in Japan [1], several laparoscopic procedures for gastrectomy have developed and become popular in Japan and Korea, because of their minimal invasiveness. Among the various laparoscopic gastrectomies, laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (LADG) has become an alternative to open surgery for the treatment of EGC [2].
