Abstract
While liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and hips remains the most popular areas for contouring, the upper arm is a significant esthetic concern for most women. A properly contoured arm enhances the fit of blouses and dresses. Tapered upper arms are viewed as a sign of youth and vigor. Despite vigorous activity and weight training, fatty deposits and lax skin may remain in the posterior triceps aspect of the arm extending to the axilla. This upper arm deformity progresses with age into what is known as “butcher” arms.
