Conditional Waiting

  • Joés M. Garrido

Conditional waiting is another type of synchronization among processes; this synchronization suspends one or more processes waiting for a given condition to become true. A process is suspended in a hidden queue known as a condition queue, if the condition is not true. The process is later reactivated to continue and carry out some activities, which often include acquiring resources. This synchronization mechanism is known as conditional waiting.
