Almost complex structure

Part of the Developments in Mathematics book series (DEVM, volume 19)

We recall the definition of an almost complex structure. First, we identify a complex number \(z=x+\sqrt{-1}\,y\) with the element \(z=x\,e_1+y\,e_2\) of a two-dimensional vector space V, where (e 1, e 2) denotes the basis of V. Let \(I: V \to V\) be the endomorphism
