Abstract
Although theoretical and empirical works in peace psychology and forgiveness proliferate, a serious examination of art in the context of processing peace meaning and forgiveness has not been as evident. Critical information, such as art’s co-evolution with human consciousness, its psychological function as a meaning system that is unique in centering on processes of realization and change essential to accomplishing peace, and its potential role in forming a consciousness of peace and in processing forgiveness and healing, has largely been ignored. But the potential contribution of art to peace is great.
