After completing this chapter, you will be able to:

Construct rate measures to identify population subgroups at high risk for a health problem. Provide the information in tabular and graphic forms.

Select a health problem and using the appropriate descriptive epidemiologic measures to characterize it in terms of person, place, and time.

Construct and interpret odds ratios and relative risks to identify potentially modifiable risk factors.

4.
Determine which risk factors, identified from a set of data, could be targeted for a prevention intervention.
