Abstract

This chapter covers views, a very important component of the relational model (see Ted Codd’s rule 6, in Chapter 1). The first section explains the concept of views. The second section discusses how to use the CREATE VIEW command to create views. In the next section, you’ll learn about the various ways you can use views in SQL, in the areas of retrieval, logical data independency, and security.
