Abstract

We all know that HTML5 is the great hope for the Web—that’s what everyone tells us, so it must be true. It’s a beautiful shining Utopia where all citizens can browse in peace and harmony with pages loading smoothly and quickly, layouts looking the same across browsers, and not a plug-in in sight. That’s what they’d have you believe, anyway. There’s no doubt that HTML5 contains a lot of good, but it also contains a lot of…well, we’ll get to that. It’s time to learn the truth about HTML5.
