Abstract

If there’s one thing that makes users feel more comfortable with an interface than any other factor, it’s a sense of familiarity. The effectiveness of design conventions for better usability hinges on the notion that users like to know instinctively what each interface element will do without having to test out their hunch and risk making a mistake.
