Abstract

Tables are basic structures that store data in rows and columns. However, just as Oracle has added features to the database as a whole, so it has enhanced the concept of tables over time to accommodate more complex application requirements. In this chapter, we are going to look at:
  • The most commonly used types of tables available in Oracle, and why you might use each type.

  • Table properties you will encounter in Oracle that affect the way the table operates.

  • How to ALTER, DROP, and TRUNCATE tables.
