Web Graphics

  • Adrian Roselli

This chapter will focus on graphics formats for the web, but primarily raster formats (yes, well even tell you what that means). It will also help you consider when the right image format is actually no image at all. Finally, we’ll touch on typography from a design perspective. The chapter will break down into:
  • Raster vs. vector graphics

  • GIF, JPEG, and PNG

  • Screen and print resolution issues (DPI, PPI)

  • Text on the Web
