Basic JavaScript Menus

  • Jon Stephens

In this chapter were going to look at creating and using some basic menus, using JavaScript and a bit of CSS. We’ll concentrate on using three common sorts of elements, which can be used in nearly any graphical web browser: text, images, and form elements such as input buttons and dropdowns (HTML <select> and <option> elements). The examples we use in this chapter will be compatible with the more recent and common browsers supporting JavaScript, so unless otherwise stated, they should work in version 3+ browsers.
