Abstract

If you’re looking for effective ways to store data for your application, you can’t afford to ignore databases. In many ways, they serve the same purpose as the files we used in Chapter 3: storing away data for as long as we like, in a place from which we can easily retrieve it when it’s needed. So what’s wrong with files — why should we bother using a database?
