Stored Procedures versus SQL Statements
In the last chapter we talked about stored procedure performance, and explained why stored procedures perform better than in-line SQL statements. This chapter expands on that discussion by using side-by-side comparisons of stored procedures and in-line SQL statements. We will show and demonstrate that stored procedures offer more robust functionality and easier maintenance than in-line SQL statements.
