Abstract
Phone Controls are the building blocks for your user interface. Windows Phone 8 includes a full set of layout controls to arrange elements on the page, buttons to initiate actions, input controls to collect information in a user-friendly way, performant lists, menus, and media presentation. To make life easy for the user, these controls are tailored to the Windows Phone 8 environment, with features like built-in gesture support and pop-up keyboards for text input. Performance is essential to the Windows Phone experience and each control is designed from the ground up to respond quickly while maintaining a small resource footprint.
