Using the Time/Date Pickers & Flyouts

  • Adam Freeman

In this chapter, I continue my exploration of the WinJS UI controls, focusing on the TimePicker, DatePicker, Flyout and Menu controls. The TimePicker and DatePicker controls allow the user to specify, as their names suggest, times and dates. These are basic controls with some design problems that make them more difficult to work with (and less useful) than they could be. You have already seen the Flyout control in Chapter 7, where I used it with an AppBar. The Flyout has a broader existence as a general-purpose control and I explain all that you need to know to use it in this context.
