Abstract
In this chapter, we’re going to look at getting started with iOS development using Xcode, Objective-C, and Cocoa Touch. This chapter is going to be longer than the other “installing the toolset” chapters. The Objective-C language is very different than other languages that you are likely to have used in the past, and so most of this chapter is given over to a primer to help you get up to speed. You will need a Mac in order to do any iOS development, as the tools run only on iOS.
