Using the Internet to Its Fullest

  • Scott Granneman

The Internet is one of the most amazing inventions of the last century, probably of all time, and it has inexorably changed our lives in countless ways. The Mac was an early sojourner on the Net when it began its climb to ubiquity in the 1990s, and in many ways Mac OS has always led the way when it comes to usable, beautiful, powerful software that lets people work and play in cyberspace. In this chapter, I’m going to look at software that works with four things people do on the Internet: e-mail, participate in social networking and sharing, transfer files, and share files with BitTorrent. There are some truly amazing apps in this chapter, and I think you’ll find out about some things you’ll be using for years to come.
