Writing and Editing Text Basics

“Writers write,” or so the saying goes. It’s a well known phrase, but there is a related, lesser-known, saying that is familiar to anyone who has ever attempted to put creative thoughts into a cogent, coherent document using Word: “Writers don’t write, they beg and plead to get Word to work with them.” In my experience, it’s best to play nice with software by learning how it is intended to work and let go of how you think it should work.
